Emery and Kinley - 6 months

Girls, how can it be that you're already half way to a year old?! It makes me want to cry. It feels like just yesterday I was holding you for the very first time. But now you are six months old and growing like weeds. Before I know it your first birthday will be here. But, enough of that talk for now....
You are both such good babies. I feel so blessed to get to be your mommy! Each and every day with you is such a blessing.

You're still nursing five times a day. It's definitely been a little more challenging lately. Gone are the days of non-distracted nursing. If you hear something interesting, you're turning around to see what it is. If we're somewhere new, you want to know what's going on. I'm so thankful that we've been able to make it this far and my hope is that we can keep going until you're a year old. We have not introduced any solids yet, but we are planning to very soon. I'm anxious to see how y'all will do!

Both of you can roll both ways now. Emery, you first rolled from your back to your belly right after I wrote your five month review. Now, I'll go in your rooms after naps and you'll often be on your bellies.

You two sleep so well and are doing about 11.5-12 hours each night and still getting three naps a day. Emery, you are completely swaddle free for naps and doing so well! When people ask how you're sleeping we brag on how well you both do. We're so proud of you!
Although you are growing, you're still our little peanuts. You can still fit in 0-3 and 3 month things. I've started to put some 3-6 month clothes on you though just because you have so much to wear! We just finished our last pack of size 1 diapers so we are going to move on to size 2.
Y'all both know how to grab me or daddy's face with your hands and pull it towards yours for a big, open mouthed kiss. The first time that Kinley did it, I thought my heart would burst and I cried happy tears. It was the most precious thing and my momma heart loved it!

You are the sweetest sisters and I love capturing moments like this where you are holding hands while playing. I'm so thankful that you have each other to grow up with!
Your GG got your first pair of sunglasses for you! We all just died of the cuteness when we saw you in them. You now have sunglasses, sun hats and bathing suits...now we just need the pool to open.
You aren't sitting up yet, but we are working on it. Sometimes you'll both sit in the tripod position for a minute or so, and sometimes you throw your head back and want nothing to do with sitting. It's okay though, mommy's not in a hurry for you to sit so just take your time =)

Y'all still want something in your mouth constantly. Hands, toes, toys...anything will do =) No signs of teeth yet.
This month you've really enjoyed playing in the exersaucer. You think you're big girls being able to stand up and spin around and see everything! You still have your old favorites (sophie, crinkle owl, o-ball, blocks, rings, etc.) and you also love to play peek-a-boo and ride the horsey on mommy's legs. You love to be read to and you think it's so funny when we sing and dance with you. Y'all are ticklish so we can always get a giggle by tickling you. And, you think it's funny when we make a clicking noise with our tongues. You're just so much fun!!
This month we had your six month check up. Dr. S was so proud of how you've grown and kept saying how cute you were. Of course, we agree 100%! You had shots again but you both did so well. Brave girls.

Here are your stats:
Kinley:
Weight: 12lbs 14.5oz
 Height: 24.5 inches

Dear Kinley,
I don't know how it's possible for you to get cuter everyday, but somehow you do! I love seeing your eyes light up when you see me or your daddy in the morning. You wake up with the sweetest smile on your face and give the best snuggles. It's the best part of waking up! I love holding you and feeling your soft cheeks next to mine. I just want to kiss them off! You're a little roly poly these days, rolling from back to tummy and back again. You're content to just have room to roll around and be able to get to your toes to suck on them ;) You still love your paci and your lovey at nap time or when you're fussy. You're getting good at putting your paci in by yourself, although its usually upside down ;) I ended up putting your crib bumpers back in because I would have to move the crib to get the paci out from behind it at least once a day. I think you like them being back in there. We've found you several mornings with one or both of your legs out of your sleeper. We don't know how you're doing it, but it cracks us up! You're still a very laid back baby. When we're out and about you'll typically sit back and take everything in, but at home you're pretty curious and into everything. It's so fun to see you watch and explore new things, trying to figure them out. You can get pretty loud with your "happy scream". You aren't mad, just trying to talk to us, but its loud sometimes! You are such a joy to us, Kinley, and we could not love you more if we tried!

Emery:
Weight: 13lbs 6.75oz
 Height: 25.5 inches

Dear Emery,
Just when I think I couldn't love you any more or my heart would explode, you give me the biggest grin with your mouth open and squinted eyes, and somehow my heart grows even more. You have the most kissable, squishy cheeks that I just can't get enough of. I love how you sleep on your side with your chubby little hand resting on your cheek. I could watch you for hours. I know you're tired and ready for a nap when you start rubbing your little eyes. Sweet thing. When you are completely relaxed while nursing you roll your eyes back a little and then you play with your eyelashes, rubbing your little fingers back and forth on them. It's the cutest thing! When you're excited you get those arms and legs flailing around. I think you'd take off if you could! When you're not happy about something, you sure do let us know! You love to be all up in the mix when we are out and about. You want somebody holding you and walking you around so you can see what all is going on. You love to talk and squeal and we love to hear it! Your hair has really grown a lot this month and your bald spot is finally filling back in. I'm amazed at how much you're growing every day. You're getting really good at playing with toys and using your hands to get what you want. You're especially intrigued by mommy's hair and glasses =) I must clean little fingerprints off my glasses 10 times a day, but I don't mind it one bit. We have so much fun with you. You're so beautiful, Emery, and we love you more than words could ever express!

  2. Happy belated first Mothers Day. I can't believe they are 6 months though it seems like they've always been here. Their sweet faces made me smile. I love seeing the love between them and their parents.
I have to write how impressed that you are still nursing each girl 5 times a day. Awesome job! I only had singletons and loved nursing and spent quite a bit of time doing it.

Hey, I'd love to know how much you charge to do a blog design. My blog is little & boring that I want to freshen up for me. I thought I'd train myself how to do it but my family and volunteering comes first so I haven't made time to learn. One day...but later. My babies are growing too fast.

  3. I'm so in love with these babies. Seriously, I'm reading this crying! They look so much like you and Chad. E is your baby and K is Chad's! :) Both so beautiful. And you look amazing, girl. I'm so proud of you for sticking with the breastfeeding thing...you amaze me. So many have a hard time BF'ing one baby and you're Bf'ing two! Love, love, love this post and love your sweet family! Kiss the girls for me...I'll have a package to send their way soon!

  4. They are so beautiful, Faith. Seeing them in those sunglasses about does me in! :) And I hate how fast the first year flies by, too...but they all do. I can't believe Dillan starts kindergarten in August!
