We usually use a prelit Christmas tree, but decided it would be fun to start the tradition of taking the girls to cut down our own tree. On Black Friday we went with my sister and her family to the mountains of NC. We visited a charming little Christmas tree farm where we rode in a wagon up the mountain to find our perfect tree.

There were many big and beautiful trees. And even a little snow on the ground! The girls had a great time, despite how it looks here ;-)

We looked around for a bit and then spotted the one for us.
They came and tagged it, cut it down and took it back down the mountain for us.

After a cup of hot apple cider, it was time to load up and head home.

So fun! I can't wait to do this too! I'm thinking when Shelby is around 4 or 5 though. Until then, we're using our fake one! :)
ReplyDeleteYou found a great tree! We cut down our first one ever last year and are looking forward to doing it again this year. This is a great new tradition to start with your sweet family.
ReplyDeletePerfect way to start the holiday season!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of the snow! When we went yesterday it was 65* here in South Georgia!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! We plan to start this tradition next year once Preslie is old enough. I'm jealous you can wear your girlies facing you. Preslie just wiggles and squirms like no other! :)
ReplyDeleteI've always thought picking and cutting your own tree would be so much fun. These pictures prove it. I'm so happy y'all are making sweet memories with your little girls. :)

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to pick out the tree each year. And someday I'll look forward to passing that tradition on to kids of my own! Also, there's nothing quite like the scent of a pine tree filling the home during the holiday season! =)
ReplyDeleteHi Faith!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through the Maddoxes and I enjoy reading about your sweet family. I have a question: how did you disable clicking on any content on your blog with the pop up message appearing?! I'd love to do this on my blog but I could not find out how to do this anywhere! Thanks!
