My growing girlies, you have changed so much the past couple of months. It's amazing how quickly you pick up on and understand new things. I thought I'd do a little recap of what you're up to at 14 months!

~love to play peek-a-boo. You love to find something to throw over your head to "hide" and then pull it off when we say "there she is!" Emery will just squeal away and thinks it's so funny!
~love to look at books. And take every.single.book off the bookshelves.
~love your stuffed doggies (Emery says "gog-gog!")
~like to sing pat-a-cake, itsy bitsy spider and "if you're happy and you know it"
~love to clap when we say "yay!"
~throw your hands up above your heads if you hear the words "so big"
~are starting to shake your heads "no".
~make a lion sound. We're working on doggy, kitty and owl too.
~are really good eaters. There's not much that you won't eat. I'm so thankful for this.
~love to play in your new kitchen. You think it's fun to stir the pots and "drink" out of the cups. You both make a little sipping sound when you're pretend drinking. It's so cute!
~love to carry around your sippy cup of water. You think you're big stuff!
~had cows milk for the first time on 12/24/13. You'll both drink it well, but Emery seems to like it a little more than Kinley.
~will give high 5's!
~like to copy each other. If one is coughing then the other one will too.
~are mommy's shadows during the day. Wherever I am, you're right there too. If I walk out of one room to another you are following right behind.
~take off for the front door when you hear daddy unlocking it when he gets home.
~will pat each other (or yourselves) on the head when we say "be gentle". I'm not really sure why?!
~like to play in the tent you got for Christmas.
~colored with crayons on the kids menu at a restaurant for the first time.
~wear size 12 month and 12-18 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
~weigh around 17.5 lbs.
~nurse two times a day, when you wake up and before bed.
~do best with two naps a day but sometimes take one long afternoon nap.
Emery you...
~are getting quite good at throwing tantrums. You'll grunt, cry, swing your arms around and throw your head towards the ground. Pretty dramatic ;-)
~are so affectionate. You love to come over and lay hour head in my lap. You'll be in the middle of playing and come give me love and lay your head on me. I love it!
~love your sissy. You'll randomly give her hugs and kisses throughout the day. You'll sometimes put your arm around her and pat her and it's the most precious thing ever!
~like to get on your knees and walk around.
~are getting good at standing independently. I think you're pretty close to walking!
~will point at different things you want.
~are usually standing on your bumper pads when I come in to get you in the morning or from nap.
~have become quite attached to your pappy. So crazy that you only started liking one a couple of months ago! You also sleep with a lovey now too.
~have six teeth.
~your laugh is changing. I love when you get to giggling!
~will hold up one finger when we say "Emery, how old are you?"
~say mama, dada, baby, uh-uh (uh-oh), EE (for Emma), aye (hey), gog-gog (dog)
~are really good at sign language. You'll sign more, drink, milk, and please. You'll try any that we show you.
~blow kisses!
~will find any hair, string, crumb, etc on the floor, pick it up and hand it to me.
~like to "write" on the magna doodle
Kinley you...
~love to open and shut doors.
~are standing on your own a lot. I think you're pretty close to walking!
~love your baby, lovey and pappy.
~like to look at yourself in the mirror and laugh.
~still make the chewbacca noise
~like to squeal loudly. This is quite interesting when we are out in public because it is an attention grabber for sure!
~say mama, dada, uh-uh (uh-oh).
~have two teeth.
~love to be tickled.
~like to get the remote controls off daddy's bedside table.
~crawl super fast to the end of your bed and roll over on your back laughing away when we come in to get you. You're so funny!
~are into everything. Nothing within your reach is safe!
~love to reach for the crystals on the chandelier in your room while your daddy is holding you.
~love for daddy to throw you in the air.
~always go through the trash can in my sewing room, taking things out one by one.
~love to rub your lovey while you're nursing.
~stand up in your crib and throw your lovey and pappy on the floor, then cry for us to give it back to you.
~scream, cry and arch your back when you're throwing a fit.
Each and every day brings more fun with y'all! Your daddy and I talk about you ALL the time! You are the light of our lives and we could not possible love you more. You are THE BEST things and we love you to the moon and back!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! I have to admit BG might have a few more teeth but he doesn't have a single word! Although he's mastered the fit-throwing as well! Can't wait to see these two (and you) soon!
ReplyDeleteShelby has gotten good at the tantrums too! :( Growing..Growing!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are just the sweetest! I bet Preslie and them would be great friends if we lived near enough to each other. They remind me so much of one another!

ReplyDeleteIsn't this such a fun (and sometimes exhausting) stage??? I loved watching my kids learn new things. It seemed like they were doing something new every time I turned around!
