So tonight, as I was "gettin my hair did", my hairdresser started telling me that perms were actually coming back in style. Wha???? She said that the hot new thing was this "Beach Wave" perm.
Check it out...
I was so intrigued and very excited that I may have some options for these boring locks! She said that I need to let mine grow at least another inch before trying it. =( I wish I could do it now!
I may try something like this in the meantime. Have y'all used any of the "surf sprays"?
Bumble and Bumble makes one that supposedly works well, but I'm just wondering if it will work on my hair that is stick straight and really has no body at all???
Okay, I'm off to take some vitamins so I can get this hair to grow, grow, grow!!
I have thought about letting mine grow back out but hubby likes how quick I can get ready! I too have stick straight hair so I can never get a good wavy look. Ugh...I am sure curly haired people want straight hair ha!
ReplyDeletePerms are coming back? Oh my there is curly out there again for us straight-haired girls ~~ WOO-HOO!! And I need to get my hands on some of that spray!!!
ReplyDeleteLove you friend,
Dawn
You should totally give it a try!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou had me at 'perm'. I just think some things ought not be! I, too, am sick to death of my hair and did have about 4 inches cut off and deeply regret it. Deeply. I have stick straight hair as well, so I am completely intrigued with this product. Let us know how it works!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your hair holds a perm better than mine! Thinking back to high school, the last perm I got lasted about 2 weeks! How crazy is that? Hope it works for you! (your hair always looks good, even if you are tired of it!)
ReplyDeleteYou should totally try it! There is a product that I know of that might be similar to that Bumble and Bumble. It's Spray Wax. I'm not sure who makes it, but I think a number of brands carries a product like it. I love it. Just spray a little on and shake it around and done!
ReplyDeleteI want some of that surf spray! That would be awesome on days that I don't want to straighten my hair. If the beach wave really looks like that afterwards, you should totally do it!! I get tired of my boring, straight hair too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wanna know if that stuff works too! Perms simply can not come back!! I can't go down that road again!! ;o)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the beach wave perm. I would love my hair to look like that! I have straight/wavy hair, it's so annoying.
ReplyDeleteBack in "my day" (I am feeling ancient too!) we used to call is a "body wave perm." It's a great solution for lots of volume! Don't laugh, but at 43 I am having a mid-life crisis, and really want to grow mine out too...except I am too impatient and looked into hair extensions! I haven't done it, yet, but it will be a quick way to add instant length and "oomph!" Good luck with your decision..you are beautiful no matter what though!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it could be cute!
ReplyDeleteCxx
I always want so badly for my hair to be beach-wavy . . . it just doesnt happen though . . . my hair's curly, just way too thick and unruly! :-)
ReplyDeleteI so......want to know if this works and if you like it. I too have been growing my hair out for a while. Like you, my hair is STICK straight. Not one ounce of body. I wonder if you could do this if you have colored hair!?!?!
ReplyDeleteOh you should DEFINITELY do it!! With your hair being naturally straight, I bet it will take well. My hair is naturally curly/frizzy, so none of that stuff works for me. Try the beach spray though - I have a friend it worked well for! And of course let us know how it works for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure the spray would work on my stick straight and baby fine hair either. Ugh! I am having a hair crisis. To grow it back out or not.
ReplyDeleteI need some of that. My hair has a little bit of bosy after having the twins, but not much! Let us know how it works!!
ReplyDeleteI just would love to have hair that wasn't course and dry that blows up the minute I walk outside in Houston. Hey here's something for you to peek at. http://weelittlechanges.com/item_143/Hootie-Owl.htm
