My New Hobby

So, I've had no time to blog because I've been busy playing with my new toy! I've had my eye on D-SLR's for a while and after a lot of research I ended up with this:

Since then, I have been doing even more research and reading up on how to use this thing! It's taking a little while to get the hang of what aperture and shutter speed mean and how they work together to take a great picture. It can be quite overwhelming and confusing at first.

Clearly I do not have the hang of it yet. ;)  Haha!
Using my little baby as my model. She wasn't real crazy about the bright flash in her face.
But, she's so cute!
Yesterday I took another cutie out to model for me. I still have A LOT to learn, but I've had fun playing around with different settings and photoshop actions on these photos.
The End....

  9. We have that same camera...and a year later, I'm still trying to figure out how to use it - ha! Not sure what's in your area, but the shop where we bought our camera from offers FREE seminars on how to use it each saturday. Might be something to look into...
But, judging by your pictures, it doesn't look like you need too much help - they look great (and of course your models are precious, too!)

I have several books on order from Amazon on the camera, digital photography, and the photo program I use to edit. I love your pictures of the little girl, very nice job. Have fun getting to know your new camera, I can't wait to see what else you capture with it.

  17. I have that same camera and LOVE using it. Though I still mostly use it on auto cause I haven't learned all the different settings. Once you learn it all then maybe you can give me a few lessons!

Those are awesome pictures, great effects. I love the B&W one.
