Savann*ah Fun - Part 1

We had a wonderful getaway in Savann*ah recently! I appreciate all of your tips and suggestions for things to do and see while we were there. I looked back through them all as I was planning our time away.

I have to confess that I was not the best blogger by taking lots of pictures. I really was just enjoying "the moment" and didn't always stop to grab the camera. =(

A big part of our weekend was food and friends! We rolled into town and did a little exploring before it was time for dinner. I was so excited to meet back up with Jenna and Mandi again. Jenna drove up and met us at our hotel and then we ventured to The Crab Sha*ck. Oh my goodness, what an experience that was.

I had read all sorts of reviews about this place (I'm a review freak!) and it did not disappoint (well, except for the cat poop I stepped in). This was such a neat place and the food was de-lish!! Chad and I tore some low country boil up. Oh. my. word. This place even had holes cut out in the tables and trash cans underneath. Talk about convenient when you are going to town peeling some shrimp =)

I love these girls!
We had such a fun night together and I hated for it to end. We ended back up at the hotel (after some questionable navigation skills on my part and questionable driving skills on my husband's part) and spent some time looking through Kelly's Show Us Your Singles. I have Jenna's husband already picked out. Now I just need him to realize it, buy the ring and pop the question. ;-)

One of my favorite places we visited was the Paris Market. It was such a neat store with so many treasures inside. Very eclectic, very modern and very unique. We could have spend hours browsing through this place!
My sweet man spoiled me with this beautiful necklace. It is a more muted, antiqued gold in person and is so pretty. And, I love the pearl!

We did a trolley tour while we were there and really enjoyed seeing a lot of the city that way. Our first trolley tour guide was fabulous and we really got a kick out of him. We decided to get out and look around at some of the stops. Here is just a smidgen of some of the beautiful architecture that we saw.
From what I can remember, this is the only Gothic synagogue in the US and it is also the oldest practicing reformed Jewish congregation in the US. We wanted to go inside but the doors were locked.

We found this pretty park with a beautiful fountain that is a replica of one in Paris. I was so uncomfortable in this picture because there was a peddler in the park selling little flowers made out of palm tree branches and he had me "model" on in our photo. It was so awkward and I was just worried that he was going to run away with my camera like on European Vacation!
We debated for a while whether we were going to eat at The Lady & S0ns. While we were out and about walking around we decided to stop in. We were able to be seated for lunch and then feasted on the buffet. We thought it was really good. My favorite thing was the lima beans. I love me some limas and these were the best that I've ever put in my mouth! And, the banana pudding wasn't bad either. =)
That day was a "Deen family restaurant day" as we had dinner at Uncle Bubba's. I think I ate crab legs every day that I was there. Ha! Here is Bubba at Uncle Bubba's!
After a full day of sightseeing, shopping and eating we headed back to our hotel to rest up. We had even more fun planned for the next day and we were so excited. Part 2 to come!
