Emery and Kinley - 7 months

 

My precious loves are now 7 months old! It really is blowing my mind how fast these last seven months have flown by. 

You're growing up before our very eyes. As sad as that makes us y'all are SO much fun right now. I really could just eat you both up with a spoon. Your daddy and I are just amazed at how we can love you even more each day. 

You're in size 2 diapers now and clothes are a mix of 3-6 month and six month things. It really just depends on the brand and how it runs. You're both fabulous sleepers. Still going 12 hours at night and taking three naps a day. If we are out and about you will skip one nap and I think our nap schedule will tweak soon to just two naps a day.

You're still nursing five times a day and the big news this month was that you started solid foods! Y'all are still learning and getting the hang of it, but we think you're doing great! You've since had roast beef, roast pork, pear and puffs. We offer you a sippy cup of water as well but y'all haven't quite mastered that either. Still no teeth yet.

You aren't sitting completely unassisted yet, but I think you're getting closer. We still practice every day.

We are so very close to having mobile babies! Neither one of you will stay put in one place anymore. I can't take my eyes off of you! Kinley, you're still a little roly poly and close to being a crawler! You started out doing "planks" and would push up on your arms and tip toes.

 

Now you will get up on your knees some and lunge forward with your head and shoulders. You've got the army crawling down and can get to pretty much whatever you want (you especially like going for Mommy's phone!) 

Emery is a pro at rolling now too and will spin around in circles on her tummy. 

You both like to play with your shape sorter that you got for Christmas. You both love music and playing pat-a-cake, itsy bitsy spider and hearing any song that daddy makes up for you. You still love the exersaucer, bouncer, sophie, links and the music table.

This month you celebrated your first Memorial Day and our sweet Jennababe came to visit! We had such a great time with her =)

Mommy also left you in the church nursery for the first time this month. I only cried for a little bit, but you did great! I think you enjoyed having new toys and friends to play with.

You won't visit the doctor again until 9 months so we don't have exact stats. Here are our best estimates:

Dear Kinley,

My little sweet pea, when you look up at me and give me the biggest, sweetest grin with your little lips together I just turn to mush. I look at you and wonder how can a baby be so cute and so sweet?! You have changed a lot this month and are doing new things everyday. You love to play peek-a-boo and will cover your face with whatever you can get your hands on (burp cloth, lovey, pajamas, etc) You like to be tickled and you have the sweetest little giggle when we do. You have such pretty blue eyes, long eyelashes and your hair has grown a lot this month too. You're bald spot is almost filled in, but it's hard to tell because the new hair is pretty light. You like to sleep on your side cuddling your lovey. You're serious about your sleep too. Sissy can be crying in her bed next to you and you just keep on snoozing. =) You're a curious little thing and I love watching you trying to figure things out. I have a feeling once you are mobile you are going to be into everything and keep me on my toes. You make this loud talking/gargling "ahh" sound that we call your "chewbacca" noise and it cracks us up! You're also saying several consonant sounds (bababa, dadada, mamama, yayaya, etc) Kinley, you bring such joy to your dad and I and we just could not imagine life without you! We love you to the moon and back!

Dear Emery, 

My darling Emery girl, oh how I love you! I look forward to hearing you wake up each morning so I can go in and see your sweet, smiling face! I love your big blue eyes and your open mouth, gummy grin so much. You have the cutest laugh! You think daddy is so funny and you'll just laugh and laugh at him. You also like to be tickled, play pat-a-cake and itsy-bitsy spider and will get to giggling then too. You are a belly sleeper all the way now. Most times I can't even get the sleep sack zipped up before you're trying to roll onto your belly. It still makes me nervous and I sometimes go in and flip you to your back but you just roll right back over. Sigh. You like to have your back scratched and that will usually calm you down if you're upset. I tried giving you the lovey again recently but you're not interested. Your hair has really grown and filled in so much this month. It's so pretty. Your cheeks and chin(s) are just scrumptious and I kiss them all day long. You're saying "mamama" a lot lately and, although I know you haven't correlated it to me yet, I absolutely LOVE to hear it! It's a sound I've dreamed of for so long. Emery, you and your sissy have made all my dreams come true and I just cannot imagine life without you. You're such a blessing to me and I love you more than words will ever say!
