and my toes were in the sand. It was a glorious weekend away at the beach with several ladies from our new church. One of the ladies in our home fellowship group has a beach house and invited us all down for the weekend. Glory!
I had the best time just hanging out with these women and getting to know them a lot better. The weekend was loud, fun, full of laughter and food - really good food!
Now I was the youngest one there, something I'm quite used to, but that wasn't a big deal at all to me. Some of these women are around my mom's age, but I had so much fun and learned a lot by being around them. God has worked in me a lot lately as I've stepped out into this new fellowship of believers. At first I spent quite a bit of time focusing on myself and how different I was and all the things that I didn't have in common with everyone. But God has changed my heart so much and I am now realizing how much I do have in common with so many of them and what all I can learn from these mentors that He has placed in my life. Oh boy, another way of seeing that His ways are not my ways!
I forgot my camera, and this is the only picture I have received from our trip, but here is most of our group (three ladies had already gone home at this point). What a great group of women!
I really have been blessed with some of the greatest friends a girl could have. New friends, old friends and blog friends alike!

ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad you were blessed with such a wonderful trip! You are so wise to being open to learning from all age groups of women...I don't think it was an accident that any one of those women were there. I think the Lord had a plan for you and He placed each of these women together for a reason! So glad it was wonderful! :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful girl's getaway! I too find myself to usually be the youngest one in the group! There is just something about how much fun the older ladies are having! I just can't resist it and their friendships are so genuine, it's wonderful! I have been swamped, but I have to tell you I LOVE my market tote! It has been in my car for a few days on the passenger seat with various coupons and items I need to return! What a great and CUTE way to keep things organized! Thank you SO much! I really LOVE it! :)
ReplyDeleteMy previous church was full of women that were my Mom or Grandmother's age and I just loved to sit and listen to their stories...they taught me so much. We still keep in touch with two of them that are like second grandmothers to us. It looks like you guys had a great time...I'm so happy God brought you to this new church!

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome time y'all must have had. I know it must be refreshing to be around women older than you are. So much wisdom. It's comforting somehow to know that Christian women have gone before us and walked in our shoes, experiencing many of the same struggles and joys that we now face! What a blessing.
ReplyDeletehow wonderful! what a sweet picture of the crew.
ReplyDeleteFaith,
ReplyDeleteYou are so very blessed to have friends like this. My hubby and I are at a cross roads. We thought we had found a church to become involved in yet now we are not so sure this is the right place for us. IT is so frustrating when you yearn to have good Godly christian friends and attend a God centered church and finding one seems to be the hardest thing to do. I am so thrilled you have found that place for your life always appreciate where GOd has sent you for you are truly luck.
God bless
