I saw this neat questionnaire on Betsy’s blog, and although I’m a little late, I thought it would be fun to do!
1. What did you do in 2009 that you had never done before?
Work a full time job! I started my first full time job in May. Every other job I’ve worked has been part time and this has been quite an adjustment. I’ve also set my alarm clock for 5:15 am every morning and I’ve NEVER done that before!
2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't really get into making resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, some sweet friends from church welcomed little boys this year. And, some of my dear blog friends welcomed their miracle babies this year also!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No
5. What places have you visited?
Atlanta, Brazil, Greensboro, Gatlinburg.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A sweet, precious baby to call my own and make me a mommy. But more than that, a true joy that comes only from the Lord and who He is, and has nothing to do with my circumstances.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched in your memory and why?
The first Sunday in February at our new church where I shared part of my testimony and saw and heard the Lord in ways that I never had before. It was such an amazing day where He showed me just how big He really is.
8. What was your biggest achievement this year?
Working hard to be able to pay off some debt that we had. Thank you Lord for providing!!
9. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, I stayed pretty healthy this year despite working in the health care industry around all sorts of crazy stuff!
10. What was the best thing you bought?
My iPh0ne. I went back and forth on whether or not I should get one, but I am so glad that I did. I love it!!
11. Where did most of your money go?
Paying off debt.
12. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Boom Boom P0w by Black Eyed Peas and how my favorite niece would dance to it!
Revelation S0ng by Kari Jobe - it's one that we sing at church quite often and just takes me straight to the throne in worship. So powerful!
13. What do you wish you would have done more of?
Spent more in depth time in the Word and with my Jesus; prayed more; reached out more to others instead of being so self-absorbed; ate healthier and did some form of exercise ;-)
14. What do you wish you would have done less of?
Stress about the future; doubt the Lord's ways or timing.
15. What was your favorite TV program?
Oh, so many...The 0ffice, Biggest L0ser, The Batchel0r, Amer*can Id0l, Chuck, 24, and I'm sure some others that I'm forgetting about right now.
16. What was the best book you read this year?
The Shack. I was not really that interested in reading it for the longest time, but I finally gave in and it was so good!
17. What was your favorite film of the year?
Definitely The Blindside. It was so good and I can't wait for it to come out on dvd so I can buy it!!
18. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
This year I entered the last year of my twenties by turning 29. I was really not looking forward to celebrating my birthday this year, but my sweet man surprised me with an evening out on the town at a delicious restaurant and a night at the West*in. We had such a wonderful time together and I was so thankful that he put so much into making it a special day for me!
19. What political issue stirred you the most?
I have to say that I am not that into politics and I stay uninformed about a lot of things, so nothing really "stirred" me that much, but I have become more aware of what’s going on with health care reform now that I am working in that field.
20. Who was the best new person you met?
I met several precious friends that I have made through blogging this year. If you had told me a couple of years ago that I would make such sweet friends on the internet and then meet them in real life, I would never have believed you! Here are a few of them...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2009 has been quite a year! Honestly, I was so glad to see it go. This year I’ve walked through some of the highest highs and some of the lowest lows. My walk with the Lord has changed and gone to a place that I’ve never been before with Him. I know that it is a great thing, but it has not been easy by any means!
I long to know Him more and to go deeper and deeper this year. A word that God confirmed for me this year is REJOICE. He is challenging me to choose to find my joy in Him alone – just for who He is – no matter what my circumstances are. I am praying and believing that 2010 is the year that He fulfills our desire for a child and blesses our socks off! But, I must praise Him even if He doesn’t; even if He never does. I pray that I will walk this path before us well and bring honor and glory to His name.
And here is the verse that God gave me for 2010:
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” Philippians 4:4-5
Claiming that 2010 is the year of rejoicing!!
I love your rejoicing theme for 2010! Good job!
ReplyDeleteI have a quick random question, I've always wondered why some bloggers either put periods in the middle of their words or in your case, changed the letter O for a zero. Could you explain why this is done? Just curious!
Have a happy Wednesday tomorrow! ;)
I too am praying that you will have a sweet baby to call your own by 2011! Thanks for your encouragment!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteHey girl, responding to your comment on my blog (how do I do that???) Yes, you do recognize that "client's" bedroom. She is a great guinea pig/unpaid assistant:) When you have a chance, let me know your thoughts on my email. . . if you're too busy to do projects right now, I completely understand. Just wanted to check w/ you first. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteLoved this. Just came upon your blog in the last month and looking forward to getting to know you better in 2010 :)
