8 months old!! I really cannot even believe it. You've reached the point now where you've been "out" as long as you were "in". I just can't even describe how wonderful our life has been since you girls came into it.
You're growing each and every day. Still in size 2 diapers and clothes are mostly 6 month and 6-9 month. Although there are still some 3-6 month things that fit you little peanuts.
You are still nursing 5 times a day and eating dinner with us each night. We will add lunch soon now that you seem to be getting the hang of this whole eating thing. =) A new favorite this month was hummus. You girls really liked it! Also big hits were corn on the cob, spaghetti and black beans. You're really getting good with the sippy cups now. It just seemed to click one day. Kinley, you even drank some water through a straw out of my terv*is.
Sleeping hasn't changed much. You go down for bed between 8:00-8:30 and
wake up anywhere between 8:00-9:00. You've had quite a few two nap days
this month, but typically if we are home and on our schedule you will
still take three naps a day. You've been good about going with the flow though if
we are out and about.
The big news this month is that Emery is a sitter!! You sit and play so well now. You're such a big girl!! I can tell that you want to move so badly but for now when you're on your tummy you just "swim" like crazy. I don't think it will be long before you're scooting too.
This month you went to the pool for the first time! We got you all dressed with swimsuit, swim diaper, sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat and beach towel and were there all of five minutes before a storm rolled in. As soon as we got in the pool we had to get out. Ahhh! But, you did like it and we've since been back.
We also went to the zoo for the first time! It's so much fun for us to watch you experience everything for the first time. Seeing y'all look at us with a big smile is just the BEST thing in the world!
It seems that the separation anxiety has started. If you see one of use walk away you will cry. We've had to come get Emery from the church nursery the past couple of weeks because she was crying =( This has also been a fussier month for both of you and I'm not sure if it's teething or not?! Neither of you have any teeth yet.
We won't go to the doctor again for another month so here are your approximate stats:
Kinley:
Weight: approximately 14lbs
Height: approximately 25.5 inches

Dear Kinley,
You are such a laid back and chill baby, but you also have a little mischievous side. When you look at me and give me that sly little grin I just melt. It really is one of the best feelings in the world! You're constantly on the move if we're at home. When we're out places you are more laid back and want to take it all in. I love how as soon as we lay you down in your crib you open your mouth wide for your paci. If you've got that and your lovey you are good to go! I love to go in and kiss you at night after you've gone to sleep and see you sleeping on your side, hugging your little lovey. You always wake up happy and whenever sissy is fussing you just look at her like "what's wrong with you?!" Your hair is growing and the bald spot is gone! You have the prettiest shaped eyes that are still blue. I simply cannot get enough of your sweet smile with your little tongue sticking out. I really could just eat you up. You are so much fun and I am so in love with you! I feel so incredibly blessed to be your mommy!
Emery:
Weight: approximately 15lbs
Height: approximately 25.75 inches

Dear Emery,
Oh my girl, how much you have grown and changed this month! When I walk in and see you sitting up and playing like a big girl it makes me so proud. And then when you look at me and give me the biggest, sweetest smile and reach your arms up for me I think my heart will explode! In those moments I am completely overwhelmed with thankfulness for how the Lord has blessed us beyond measure with you and your sister. You're a funny girl and I love to hear you laugh. You've started this new kind of grunting sound when you're excited or want something. It's pretty funny! Your big blue eyes and long, curly eyelashes just slay me. I could stare into them all day long. Your hair is growing and it will now stick out if you've laid on it wrong. It cracks me up! You've had a hard couple of weeks and I don't know if it's teething or what. You've been pretty fussy and clingy with me, but I don't mind it one bit. I'm soaking up all the cuddles I can get. Emery, I love you with all that is in me and I'm so thankful for you!

ReplyDeleteI think Emery is looking more and more like her daddy. :)
They are so adorable Faith! This is one of my favourite stages and I hope you are really enjoying it. Granted, I've never gone through this stage with TWO! I hope those pesky teeth come in soon. Remember, it's always darkest just before the dawn. (ie -- the worst times will likely be just before the teeth actually appear.) I'm praying those first teeth make an appearance soon.
