You look longer to me lately. Your weight hasn't changed a whole lot, but I think that's because you are busy girls on the move now! You're in size 2 diapers but once we've used what we have left we will move up to size 3. Clothes are a mixture of 6-9 and 9 month things. There are still a few 3-6 month things that you can wear. You need fall clothes and I will be looking for 9 and 9-12 month for those.

You nurse 5 times a day eat 2-3 solid food meals a day. In the past several weeks you've really started to do better with the whole eating thing. I think you're finally getting the hang of it! Now you pretty much eat whatever we are having. Some favorites lately are corn on the cob, cheerios, chicken, ground beef, pimento cheese, refried beans (you both love mexican food!), yogurt melts and spaghetti.

You still sleep 12 hours each night and now take two naps a day. You take a morning nap that's around 1-1.5 hours and an afternoon nap that's around 2-2.5 hours. Nap time has been more interesting lately because you are both very aware of each other. Now that you can pull up, Kinley, you will pull up and stand near Emery's crib just a chatting away. I go in several times to lay you both back down. It really is so cute but sometimes that process can go on for 20 or 30 minutes!

This month we went to the park to play for the first time. You both really enjoyed the swings!

We've also found a new treat that we love...popsicles! There's a place in town that sells natural, handmade pops and we've visited several times. You both like them too!
And the big news is that Emery got her first tooth on July 14th and her second tooth on August 1st!
It was rough for a week or so leading up to the tooth breaking through, but once it did you were much better! Ice in the mesh feeder really seemed to help. We are still waiting on Kinley's first tooth!
We also went to the mall and bought your first real pair of shoes. I nearly cried in the Stride Rlght when they measured your little feet and brought out your first pair of keds. You both looked so big and so cute! I could just eat you up with a spoon.
You love to work on your new tricks of pulling up and standing on all the things! Me, daddy, your toys, your crib...you are both getting too big! You love the music table, shape sorter, books, blocks, and balls. You both love music and when we sing and dance, play peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. I just love to hear your sweet squeals and laughs. My favorite sounds in the world!

I forgot my real camera when we went to the doctor for your 9 month checkup so we had to use daddy's phone. Let's just say that neither one of you were big fans of that place this time. You both cried when Dr. S did his exam of you. Even though there were no shots they did have to do a finger prick to check your iron levels and that was awful! You both hated it and mommy and daddy did too. =(

Here are your stats:
Kinley:
Weight: 14lbs 6oz
Height: 26 inches
Dear Kinley,
My little peanut! You're a teeny little thing but you don't let that stop you. You are into everything these days. You love to crawl all over the place. If I walk into another room it's not long before I hear your hands stomping the ground as you crawl to come to find me. You're sitting up great now but you'd still rather be busy, crawling and pulling up on everything. You love to crawl behind the door and make the door stop move, and get into the shoes in your closet. We are seeing more of your mischievous side. Daddy or I will tell you "no" and you just look at us with this grin like "how can you tell someone as cute as me no?!" Oh girl, you keep us on our toes! You have the sweetest laugh. I could listen to it all day! I love to watch you and Emery "talking" to each other. You have a loud squeal when you're happy and still make your adorable "gargling" sound all the time. You also close your mouth, scrunch up your little face and make this sniffing sound that makes us laugh! Your hair is really growing too. It's a light brown and your beautiful eyes are still blue. You love your daddy and will perk up when you hear him come in the door each day and then you take off crawling to see him. Kinley, you bring us so much joy and life would not be the same without you. We are so blessed to call you our daughter! I love you, sweet girl!
Emery:
Weight: 15lbs 4oz
Height: 26 inches

Dear Emery,
My darling girl, you've still been more clingy to mommy lately (and I still love it!) I hated that you were having such a rough time with those teeth coming through. Between that and separation anxiety there have been lots of tears this month. You're a trooper though and pulled through. You've still been sleeping well at night but naps have been a little harder. You're still the first one to wake up. You're content to sit and play with your toys for quite a while. If you manage to get on your tummy though you're off. You're army crawling now and getting pretty quick! I think you're happy that you can try to keep up with sissy now. You love the jumper and when EE pushes you in it like it's a swing. You will crack up laughing over that! Actually, anything EE does makes you laugh. You sure do love her! When I'm holding you and you're tired you'll lay your head on my shoulder. It's the sweetest thing and in those moments I just want to freeze time. You babble all the time...saying "mama", "baba", etc. We are still working very hard on "dada". Your hair is growing like crazy and it's dark. I love how you play with it when you're nursing and tired. Your gorgeous eyes are still blue. The facial expressions you make are just priceless. I wish I knew what you were thinking! You are my darling girl and I cannot imagine life without you! I'm so thankful that you're mine! I love you to pieces!
I love reading about your girls. Your love for them just radiates through the words on the computer.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What ARE you gonna do with these two!? Precious for sure!! Love, love, love!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! We need to have another play date with Maggie too!
ReplyDeleteThe girls are all around the same stage now. Shelby is pulling up and even let go yesterday and stood!
She's trying to furniture walk too!
Shelby also had her first trip to the park. Maybe we can all meet at the park in September? Maybe when it's cooler! I'll have to email ya'll!
Okay I'm totally crying...AGAIN, as I read your latest update. It seems like just yesterday that we found out that God had blessed us with these 2 precious girls and now they are already 9 months old! Every age is so much fun, though! I love that they are starting to lean forward and "reach" out for someone to take them. You have done such a beautiful job of chronicling their lives thus far and you are so good about taking pictures of all of their milestones. You really need to have your blog made into a book for them! We are so blessed to have these 2 precious girls in our family and they are blessed beyond words to have YOU as their mother! I always knew you would be an amazing Mom! Love you all to pieces!
ReplyDeleteI just love reading your updates on your precious girls! They are so sweet :) Thank you for continuing to share their lives with us. And I have to say 9 months is one of my favourite times with kids.
ReplyDeleteIt has been way too long since I have read or blogged any. Congratulations on your beautiful little girls!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girls!! I cannot wait to see them next week (and you too!).
ReplyDeleteThese pictures melt my heart. I can't believe E has two teeth!! And her facial expression while hanging out in that scale at the doc office is adorable. They are so beautiful. Every so often there will be a picture where they resemble and then I look at all of these and they look so different to me. :) Happy to hear they need 9 month clothes...if I ever get to the post office, they'll have a 9 month outfit! I'm terrible at going to the P.O. I WILL get there one day SOON.
ReplyDeleteMiss y'all and wish we could hang out. I want to hold these babies so badly.
Love you!
absolutely beautiful little girls!! can't wait to see you guys again!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you get anything done....I would just sit all day and "chew" on these beautiful babies!! They are growing up so fast and you will be planning a one year party before long!! Are you having the time of your life??? I bet so!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of them with their doctor! How precious!!
