and now we're home! What a whirlwind of a weekend. Like I said earlier, this trip was easier than last year....it helps having one under your belt so you know a little more about what to expect and how to find your way around the maze of three buildings full of showrooms.
We spent most of our time in here...this is a pic of the madness that is building 3. Fourteen floors with hundreds of showrooms on each floor amounts to a lot of time walking around.
This building has the temporary booths, and cash and carry places, which is where we found a lot of cute things! Like these...
I also got them in chocolate, lime green, red and blue! Love them!!
I shed a tear when we landed on floor 13, which is children's world. Y'all would not believe all the adorable smocked dresses and john-johns, the incredible bedding and nursery decor, and everything else baby you can think of. I was oohing and ahhing over it all and dreaming of the day when I could be buying for my sweet little one!
Just look at this precious linen bib I found...how sweet will this look with a monogram on it???
Along with all the merchandise to look at, there is also one of my favorite past times...people watching. Oh my word, you would not believe what some of these women wear to the market! I'm talking black satin dresses with 3 inch heels and way too much cleavage showing...oh yes they did! People, we are at a market to shop ALL day with a bunch of other women...a black satin dress, really???
I, however, was singing the praises of my beloved Yellow Box flip flops. They served me well and my feet thanked me for that each night!
They also thanked me for this...we had a "Beth Moore moment" each night as we soaked our feet in a tub full of hot water!
All in all, it was such a fun time! I am so glad to be back home though and here are some things that I'm thankful for....
- I am so thankful to hug and kiss my husband that I missed like crazy!
- I am thankful for my own bed!
- I am thankful for my sweet little Calie girl that I missed having curled up in my lap!
- I am thankful for my Burt's Bees lip balm (I left it at home and my lips were suffering without it!)
- I am thankful that I did not have to set an alarm this morning!
- I am thankful that I received a couple of orders while I was gone...thank you Lord!
And, I'm thankful to be back in blogland and catch up on what all you have been up to! It has been taking me a while, but I'm trying! Several days without checking bloglines will lead to an astonishing number of posts that you have missed!
Thanks for praying for us and for reading about our journey to market! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Wow!! That place is amazingly HUGE! Goodness...I bet you did spend alot of time just walking around. It seems like so much fun, though!! I love the things you bought. I think they are going to be adorable with cute monograms on them!

Oh girl, I missed you! I mean, it was fun hanging out with your hubby and all, but I need my girlfriends! We took care of him for ya, but he sure did miss you! See ya soon.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I am just overwhelmed looking at the pictures!!! I think this might be a fabulous idea for a galz weekend next year...a quick trip to A-town for some market madness.

I missed you while you were gone and I am so glad you are home safe and sound. (even if you DIDN'T bring me home a fried peach pie from The Varsity!)
I love you anyway!
Mom
That looks fun but overwhelming to me! I'm sure next year you will be such a pro! That is THE most adorable bib I have ever seen, and yes I love the little basket. I think Ella Grace needs one of those! Glad you had fun and I agree. No place like home!
