10 years!

Ten years ago, I was getting ready to go to a cookout that some people from our new church had invited my family to. This wasn't just any family....this family had a son named Chad and he had been catching my eye since we had first met at church. Needless to say, I was pretty excited about going!

When we arrived, my mom and I headed upstairs to the kitchen, and my dad, brother and sister went around to the backyard. When I walked into the house, I was kind of bummed because I didn't see who I came to see! Little did I know that he was in the backyard and when he saw my dad, brother and sister walk up, he was bummed thinking that I had not come.

A little while later he made his way upstairs to the kitchen. I was sitting on the window seat eating chips and dip when I looked up and saw him. I was trying to hide my excitement and not act like a fool, all the while nudging my mom with my elbow trying to say "that's him, that's the guy I've been telling you about!"

We hung out that night as we ate dinner and then later walked to see fireworks. I knew as we walked that night that something was different...he was different....he was the one! I guess you could say the rest is history! We were inseparable from that time on. We got engaged the next September and married in December of the following year!

Look at these youngin's!

Chad, I wish I could put into words how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I know without a doubt that the Lord brought us together, He knew you were the man for me long before July 4, 1998. I am incredibly blessed to have you as my husband. You make me want to be a better person and a better wife. I love that you teach me new things, you make me laugh (all the time!), you pray for me, you encourage me, you surprise me, you challenge me, and so many other things. But most importantly, you love me unconditionally and I am so grateful for that!

I don't think that ten years ago we had any idea the things we would have gone through and the things that we would be facing right now. But I know that I don't want to face them with anyone else, and as we seek the Lord together, He will bring us through.

I love you baby! I can't wait to see what's in store for the next ten years!
