Happy Near You!

One of the many songs that my favorite niece, E, learned this Christmas was "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" She did really good at singing all the words, but at the end of the song instead of saying "Happy New Year" she got it mixed up and said "Happy Near You". We would just kind of laugh and try to correct her and tell her the right way to say it, but she continued to say "Happy Near You".

Chad was teaching Sunday School yesterday morning and shared how the Lord spoke to him through this little song that E has been singing. This year, and always, God wants us to draw nearer to Him, to walk closer to Him, and become more like Him than we ever have before.

Ephesians 2:12-13 says "remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

Praise the Lord, we have been brought near by Christ Jesus! May we walk near to Him each and every day!

I am so excited about what all God has in store for this year as we all seek to know Him more. I know a theme for my life is surrender, and I am praying that He will work that in me so that I can draw nearer to Him and walk in His will, living a life that is pleasing to Him.

I'm praying for each of you to do the same. Happy Near You!

  2. This is my main focus this year! Ithink last year I was so absorbed in Ministry that I would forget to take time for myself and Him, just the 2 of us. So 2009 I'm a getting close!
