Wow, I cannot believe that 2009 is here! Another year has gone by...so much has happened, and so many things still to come.
This year has been full of ups and downs on our journey to become parents. We have seen glimpses of how God is working, but are still waiting for His perfect plan to be revealed. Each year I pray for the Lord to give me a scripture to cling to as my "theme" for the year. Last year He laid Psalm 62:5-8 on my heart and as I have prayed about a verse for this year, it keeps coming back up so I'm going to stick with it. I've committed to participate in Beth Moore's scripture memory challenge and these are my first verses...
Psalm 62:5-8, Amplified Version
5My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.
6He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.
7With God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God!
8Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

I pray that this year is full of God's richest blessings on your life as you seek to know Him more and live for Him everyday. He alone is worthy!!!

Faith,
ReplyDeleteYour blog has blessed me since I recently found it. I somehow stumbled upon it during the "Christmas Tour". Then I noted that you would be hosting the meme, "Christmas Card Carousel" which I participated in and thoroughly enjoyed.
Today's post is both an encouragement for memorizing scripture and a blessing because that is what you hope for your readers.
I will be praying for you and your husband and am believing that God will be expanding your family. I anticipate hearing the news.
Many wonderful blessings in Christ's name,
Carol

ReplyDeleteFaith, You don't know me, but I have been so encouraged by your blog. It was pointed out by a friend of mine--she and I have both gone through infertility, and it can be heartbreaking. She is now pregnant, but I most likely never will be. That has been hard, but I do a have a precious son by adoption. When I saw you are doing the scripture memorizaton with Beth Moore also, I was just encouraged to comment here. I hope your 2009 brings answers to prayer!
ReplyDeleteSo I know this comment is almost a month later, but those verses have been my "life verse" since High School! Love them!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog, and I am so glad that I found you!
