What an awesome Easter weekend we had! I am so full of gratitude and joy over what my Savior has done for me and all that He is doing in my life and the lives around me.
We started the weekend with the Good Friday service at our church. What a beautiful, reflective service it was where we spent time remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. We worshiped, we prayed, we broke bread together and it was the perfect way to prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday.
We went to the Saturday night service with some of our dear friends and boy did we celebrate the fact that HE IS RISEN!!! It was an amazing night of worship and the Word and our pastor preached on why we should make it our aim to live a life well pleasing to Him. (You might remember me talking about these verses before!) We all have an appointment with a Holy God that we will not be late for and we were challenged to spend our lives preparing for that appointment. How much of a priority do we make doctor's appointments, dentist's appointments, and even hair appointments without giving much thought at all to the most important appointment we will ever have? Quite convicting indeed!
Sunday morning my whole family was in church worshiping together. I'm just telling you, it doesn't get any better than that! My heart was overjoyed!!
Afterwards, you can bet we enjoyed a delicious Easter lunch if this woman had anything to do with it! We feasted on ham, macaroni and cheese, lima beans and horseradish deviled eggs (my absolute fave!!!)

Hallelujah indeed!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day you guys had!! LOVE the pictures...that Miss E is gonna be SUCH A heartbreaker!! I know I say that everytime you post a pic of her, but it is just SO true!!!
Wow...you look like your mom! It's funny that you mentioned you had lima beans yesterday. We had peas with our dinner and our kids don't like them. My husband & I began talking about what veggies we didn't like as we were growing up, and my husband really disliked lima beans!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a blessed weekend!
It WAS a wonderful weekend! Loved that Good Friday service and you're right, it doesn't get any better than having my entire family in church together on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSo glad ya'll could come up for lunch, too. Loved having you all here.
Love you to pieces,
Mom

ReplyDeleteOh what a wonderful Easter Sunday indeed! I am so happy that you were able to celebrate our risen Lord with the people you love!!!
ReplyDeleteMy day was rather sad...it was my first Easter without my parents and that void was definitely felt in many ways...the empty places at the table...not having them in church...they missed seeing the kids hunt for Easter eggs...grief doesn't take a holiday, but there is always HOPE, just as in Jesus' resurrection!
Praying many blessings for you my sweet blogger friend Faith!
Love,
Denise :-)
