We're on to our 8th memory verse of the Scripture Memory Verse Challenge!
Here is my verse from last month:
"Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Col. 3:12 (NIV)
This was definitely a verse that I needed and found myself quoting it often when dealing with difficult situations and people! I still have a long way to go, but I pray that I can be known as someone who is clothed with these things.
Okay, the verse I chose this time is one that Beth did a couple months back and it stuck out to me. Here it is:
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded, YOU NEED TO PERSEVERE so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised." Hebrews 10:35-36 (NIV)
I so need to be reminded of this and encouraged to not give up. The definition of persevere is this: maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.
We have faced our share of difficulty, obstacles and discouragement as we've tried to have a baby and there are times when I am so weary and tired. But, I must not lose heart. I must persevere so that God's will can be done in our lives and we will receive what He has for us!
I pray that you will not lose heart as well. We must place our confidence in Him, the only One Who is worthy!

Hey, we're both in Hebrews! "Persevere" always reminds me of when Mark tried to teach Becca the word at the beach on year. Seriously, she was like 3. haha
ReplyDeleteThat should be "one" year. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Faith! I did Hebrews 10: 35-36 last time and it has gotten me through some rough days. It still is getting me through! I hope this verse brings peace to your heart.
ReplyDeleteGood verse! I think that we need to be reminded that God loves us, He created us the way we are on purpose, and we are here for His glory. A lot of times I lose my confidence in silly things. Thanks for the reminder! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteVerses about perseverance really help me to press on! Good choice. :)
ReplyDeleteHere is another verse on perseverance: "...as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ...we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." James5:10-11
ReplyDeleteFaith, keep on keepin' on!
