After chewing on my last verse for another couple of weeks, I think I've finally gotten it down! Here goes...
"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
1 Peter 1:6-7 (NKJV)
Shew! That was a tough one for me!
So now it is time for verse #7 in the Scripture Memory Verse Challenge. I saw this verse on Deidre's blog and knew that it was something I needed to commit to memory. Oh, how I want to be more like Him in these areas!
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12 (NIV)
Colossians 3:12 (NIV)
I pray that I would be able to show others compassion and kindness, dealing with them with humility, gentleness and patience!
This is SO funny, Faith! I saw the same verse on Deidre's blog and chose it for my verse this time, too! I've already got it memorized from reciting it to myself today so I think I'm going to memorize verses 13-14 as well. (:
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!! Great verse!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat verse .... life changing! I need to memorize it as well (seems a lot more fun than the one I'm learning this time - ha!). I love what we're doing, though. Memorizing verses is certainly strengthening my walk.

ReplyDeleteJust saw your post for your mom's birthday - she is so beautiful. I would love to be able to wear my hair like that. This is the third post for a mom's birthday that I've read this week!
Hope you were able to help her celebrate! Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you will come back again soon. I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI am going to have a "card box" giveaway every month. This drawing will be the last day of April.
Every comment you leave throughout the month will enter your name in the drawing, so if you visit several times and leave several comments, you will have a better chance to win. This NEW blogger was so touched by all the comments I got on the Blog Party, that I decided to make this a monthly GIFT...
Also, if you link to my blog telling about the monthly giveaway, you will have your name entered 10 extra times...How is that for an incentive?
I was so blown away by all the responses that I wanted to email each person personally, but TIME... just has not permitted..but I did love reading all of them..I am continuing to introduce my family members and then there will be some fun blogs coming up from Disney World in May. I am so thankful for all my new friends.
I love this verse. I have been working the past week to effectively memorize the fruit of the spirit and this verse goes right with it!! God has convicted me more than once on patience, love, joy, kindness, and gentleness.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for you mission opportunities. God always rewards an obedient heart!!! You are an amazing woman!
I sure do believe you show these traits in your everyday life Faith, because you have shown them to me! I love how the Lord works in your life! :-)
