Hooty Hoo!

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I wanted to post about my owl collection and it worked out perfectly today that I could link up with Kelly’s Show Us Your Life – Collections!!

My great-grandmother (my mom’s grandmother) whom we called Ma-Ma collected owls. When I was a young girl, I can remember visiting her house and seeing her owls scattered around. Now, they are scattered between my grandmother, my mom and me. I have a couple that belonged to my Ma-Ma and hope to have more one day. Every time I see an owl I always think of her!

This pic is a little blurry (sorry, I was too lazy to take another one) but it is a little ceramic egg with an owl on it that says “Spectacled Owl” on the side.

When we went to Brazil the first time, I found the cutest little soapstone owl that I bought for my mom and later I was so mad at myself for not buying one for me too! So when we went again this past September I was on a mission to find myself an owl like that. We were in a totally different area and they didn’t have the same type of souvenirs, but I did end up finding one very similar.

The one on the left is one of my favorites. I found the one on the right first and didn’t really like it, but I just bought it because I wasn’t sure what else I would be able to find. I was so excited to come across the cute little soapstone one at another shop we went to.

This is a sweet little ornament that my friend Melissa gave to me. I think it is just the cutest! It is made out of straw or raffia or something like that.

This little guy we found when we were helping clean out Chad’s grandfather’s house after he passed away. It was probably so cheap and even has a little “souvenir from Myrtle Beach” sticker on it, but I think he’s so cute! It’s also neat to have something from Chad’s side of the family.

One of the reasons that I wanted a Pand0ra bracelet was for this little charm. My sweet man surprised me last year for our anniversary with a bracelet and this charm.

This past year for my birthday, my mom gave me this big fellow. I really like him and he is my new fave!

And, last week my sweet friend Katie gave me the cutest little owl necklace and tote bag from F0rever 21 as a “just because” gift. Don’t you just love those?!?!
