I was listening to the radio this morning on my drive into work and the radio hosts were doing an interview with Max Lucado. Max has written something like nine books on the subject of Easter. Although he said really all of his books will come back to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ because that's really what it's all about!
Maybe you're like me and you're living in between the offered prayer and the answered prayer; the experience of pain and the solution of pain. But you know what? Jesus knows! He breathed His last and then experienced that Saturday of silence, that Saturday of suffering before He was resurrected the next day.
I loved hearing this and then seeing Easter weekend in a new light. I'm so incredibly thankful for what Jesus did for me on the cross. I'm incredibly thankful that the Father raised Him from the grave on Sunday. And, I'm also incredibly thankful for a Savior that knows and has experienced the in between time as well.
"sorrow will last for the night
but hope is rising with the sun
(its rising with the sun)
there will be storms in this life
but I know You will overcome
but I know You will overcome" (fee)
but hope is rising with the sun
(its rising with the sun)
there will be storms in this life
but I know You will overcome
but I know You will overcome" (fee)
How great is our God?!?!?
I pray that each of you have wonderful, worshipful Easter weekend!
Wow, what a GREAT new perspective!! Thanks so much for sharing. Happy Easter to you! Christ is Risen!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us. I love that last line you posted... reminds me of the song "How Great is Our God... sing with me how great is our God, and all will sing, how great, how great is our God"
ReplyDeleteJesus lives indeed!
:)
Something I haven't ever really thought about. The in between. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Easter, Faith!
Love you!
Oh I love this. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be in town. See you Sunday! (Maybe before?)
Now that's a good word! Girl, hold on to it...Jesus knows all about that in between time. I'm so glad we serve a Lord that can relate to us in all things.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing....I love it and what an amazing example of what it is all about. I have been praying about what to share with our youth this evening about the resurrection and I will be adding this as well. Thank you for sharing...what a blessing...
ReplyDeleteI loved this Faith. I have to admit that I never really thought about the Saturday in between...what a monumental day it was.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for His death, day of silence, and resurrection :)
Faith,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful perspective!! Wow am I ever living in between the offered prayer and the answered prayer. But hallelujah Resurrection Sunday IS coming!! I just Him and I love Him and I will wait.
Thank you for this post, I needed this today.
Love you friend,
Dawn
Thank you for sharing that Faith! I've never thought about that "in between" day before reading your post. Offered prayer and answered prayer?! That is incredibly profound and it will definitely cause me to view Easter in a new light as well.
ReplyDeleteI too heard Max Lucado this morning on the radio and what he said about silent Saturday made me cry! I love how he ended that segment by saying our hope is a Sunday away!
ReplyDeleteI had also thought of blogging about Silent Saturday but I am too tired tonight!! Maybe I'll do it on Saturday!
thanks for this perspective on Easter. It is refreshing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post. What a wonderful perspective. I never thought about it like that. I love it though. It makes so much sense! Have a very Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that.
ReplyDeleteI have been excited to get online and over to your blog tonight. I was at Pottery Barn Kids today and guess what they have that you will need. An owl night light. It is the cutest thing. They also have a piggy one but the owl is so sweet. I checked online to see if they had a link I could give you but they dont. Just in case you go to your PBK's first thing tomorrow to get this and they dont have it...Have them order it from the PBK's in the Woodlands, TX.
I promise you will love it!

I have thought about this before. I wondered what happened in the hearts and lives of the people on that Saturday. I wonder if they anticipated His resurrection (like He said!)or if they mourned? I am waiting on His answers to some things too! I want to choose to believe His word and not mourn in the mean time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Love you!
What a great post. I never have thought of it from that perspective. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful..... Love ya, friend! Happy Easter :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodnes...I was just starting to blog about this too - I heard him on K-LOVE and loved what he had to say! I love your thoughts too...so true. :) Happy Easter!!
