This weekend has been all about Celebrating America! Our church had our big patriotic celebration today and it was fantastic!
Saturday morning we had a dress rehearsal, and when I got home, I had a little surprise in the mailbox! Heather sent me the devotional Streams in the Desert and the sweetest card. I have heard her talk about how good this book is, and I am so excited to now have a copy! Heather, thank you so much...I love it! I have already read some, and I can't wait to read more!
Then today, oh my word, was one of the best sermons I have heard in a while...and the Lord was speaking right to my heart. Our pastor was preaching from Mark 4 , on the same scriptures that the Lord had led me to in Matthew earlier this week about going through the storm....God is so cool! Oh, it was so good, and I want to write about it more later. God continued to show me more about Himself and His purposes through the storms I am facing. Thank you Jesus!
This afternoon and evening were our big performances of Celebrate America. Here's a pic of me and Jen in our lovely red shirts!
How blessed we are to live in this great country and have the freedom that we do. I am so grateful to those who have sacrificed, and are sacrificing, in order to make that possible. May God bless America!

There must have been a huge movement of God for pastors today- we had an INCREDIBLE sermon, too.
Aren't we so lucky and blessed that He wants to teach us and speak to us. It blows my mind!

Yesterday was an awesome day in church and Celebrate America was great! I LOVE patriotic music! I am praying for you as we both weather some storms right now. We certainly are better equipped for them after that sermon! So neat that God led you to that same passage earlier in the week. That's one of those "God Moments"!

I get so emotional during memorial day and the 4th! I agree we are so blessed to live in the US. We defintely take our freedom for granted more often than we should!

Our church has not done their patriotic service yet. They may be doing it this coming Sunday but we will miss it. I love it though when I have Sundays just as you describe....hearing a great sermon and word from God.
