My sweet blogging friend Megan recently got married and has been sharing some of her GORGEOUS wedding pictures. Seriously, her wedding was amazing and absolutely beautiful. Now, she is opening it up to all of us to share pics from our special day and I am so excited!
In my last post I talked about how Chad and I got engaged, and now I get to share what we worked on planning for 14 months (fyi: 14 months is WAAAAYYYY to long to plan a wedding!) I loved the idea of a Christmas wedding for several reasons...one, I don't like to be hot and I did not want to be all hot and sweaty in my pictures. Two, I love Christmas time, the decorations, lights, flowers, just everything about it. And three, I really don't like to be hot!! Ha!
I would love to share with you just a few of my favorites from our special day, December 9, 2000
We were married at 6:00pm, so these were some that were taken before the ceremony while there was still some daylight
My mom and I (btw - she lost like 30 pounds after my wedding!)
Me and my dad (Buddies, Pals, and Tight!)

A close-up. I was wearing a ring on my right hand that was given to me by my grandmother.

Me and my cousin Katelyn who was our flower girl.

The three amigos, ...me, my brother and sister. Hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil! We actually had to pick this one because it was the only one of the three of us that Grace didn't have her eyes closed, but I like it!
One of my favorites from the ceremony. I love the way the candles are glowing.

This next one is my all time favorite picture from our wedding. I remember the photographers telling us that there would be one picture that would be panoramic and would take up both pages of the center of our album. When we were standing there, they told us that this "pose" was called "looking to the future". I really didn't know what it was going to look like, but we got our album and when I flipped to that page, it took my breath away! I love it so much! Now, the sad thing is, I got the proof album from my mom to scan these in and discovered that this picture is not in there! I have NO idea where it is, and have about turned my house upside down looking for it. I hope you can tell what it's supposed to look like. I had to take a picture of my wedding album to show you. Here is a picture of a picture! Ha!
Our first dance at the reception. My train did not really bustle right and it was so heavy and kept dragging the ground. During our foxtrot, I was so frustrated with it, I just grabbed behind me, scooped it up and carried it the rest of the time! (fyi: get a detachable train!)
These precious couples were from our Nearly-Newlywed Sunday School class at church. I look in this picture and see some of our dearest friends to this day! I am so thankful that they were able to share in our special day. By the way, a couple of them are bloggers!
Our farewell, the wedding was over, but our married lives were just beginning!
Thank you for sharing in our special day! I would love to see your pics, so go here and show us!

ReplyDeleteSadly the thing I remember most about your reception was that Becca was 2 weeks old and it was the longest I had been away from her. And since i was nursing, the "girls" were growing by the minute! Let's just say I was quite uncomfortable and wishing for a pump! ha! Umm, TMI?

Awww... you made me cry again --TWO DAYS IN A ROW! I'm gonna have to quit reading your blog during the middle of the day!
ReplyDeleteIt was an absolutely "storybook" wedding! I know I am a little biased, but it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen!
Wow we were all so young, weren't we? And wouldn't it have been really great if your mother had lost the 30 pounds BEFORE your big day! Sorry! (-:
I love the picture of you and your Dad. So sweet!
Thanks for taking me back down "Memory Lane" --even if it did bring a few tears to my eye again!
I love you and Chad so much! (as well as, the Three Amigos!)
Weird that it looks like I had on a black dress. Just wanted to clarify that it was actually GREEN. (Even though I WAS in mourning over weighing so much at the time! lol)
ReplyDeleteWOW - these are just beautiful! The picture with you & your father has to be my favorite. Just the look on both of your faces...makes me want to cry....
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love your favorite as well - your dress & the way its going down the stairs & just the fullness of it - thats a GORGEOUS picture!!!

ReplyDeleteYour mom's comments are cracking me up! :) At least she LOST weight....I've put on like 50 lbs since our wedding - now that's depressing!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pics...my favorite is the one of you and your dad too but they're all good. Thanks for sharing!!

ReplyDeleteYou're so beautiful Faith! Thanks for sharing your great stories :) Keep 'em coming!!!
ReplyDeleteFaith, You and Chad look so happy and you are beautiful! Love wedding pictures! Back in 1993 it wasn't typical to do the candid shots or the black and white photos like they do now and I would have loved that! :(
ReplyDeleteThe back is not 100% but it is getting better! Thanks for checking up on me!
April still loves her market tote! :)
What a beautiful couple you were on your wedding day (and STILL ARE). You were so smart to get married in Dec. July (when I got married) was SOOOOO hot! Plus, your decorations being around Christmas were GORGEOUS! I love that you shared these with us. I think the panoramic picture is my favorite, too.
ReplyDeleteI just love all of your wedding photos! What a beautiful wedding. I love the Christmas trees. Hope you are doing well! Pray for you everyday.

PS I am trying to catch up on blogging. Home-schooling and helping at our church with the children's curriculum has kept me really busy. I love how the Lord is stretching me for His Glory!
PSS. We got married 15 years ago, trying to figure out how to download my wedding photos, this was way before the digital era!
Hey! I just found your blog from Becky's and I loved looking through all of your wedding pictures! I'm adding you to my blogroll so I can keep checking back!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like looking back over wedding pictures ;)!
ReplyDeleteI think your Christmas wedding was just perfect!!!!
