Recap ~ Part 2

My sweet friends...can I just say how blessed I have been by your encouraging comments. It really has meant so much to me, and I am just thanking the Lord for each one of you and how He is using you in my life right now. Who would have thought this 'blog thing' would have turned into that? Not me!

I did want to share some things from the last session with Priscilla at the Going Beyond conference. I talked before about how she was teaching about the children of Israel on their way to the Promised Land.

When the Israelites came to the Jordan River, they were faced with the choice of stepping out in faith, or not. When we come to the Jordan Rivers of our lives, what will we do? Here are the points she made:

~ Act immediately in obedience to God - If God calls you to something, He will equip you for it. When God told Abraham to take his son and offer him as a sacrifice, the Bible tells us in Gen.22:3 that he 'rose early in the morning'. If he had not gone when he did, would the ram have been caught in the thicket then? Have we missed out on some 'rams in the thicket' because of disobedience?

~Act fearlessly in spite of insurmountable odds - This river seemed impossible to pass. It was at it's highest point, full and raging. And they had to step out in faith, before they had proof that God was going to do something miraculous. Wow! God calls us to the impossible and He is working, even if we don't see proof right now.

~Acknowledge God's presence before making a move - Josh. 3:3 tells us that they weren't to move until they saw the presence of God (the ark). Sisters, we need to keep our eyes on the Lord. We can't do something, or go somewhere we've never been before without a guide. God knows what He is doing, and we are wise to follow Him.

~Anticipate God's miracles all around you - I LOVE this point! Josh. 3:5 tells us to purify ourselves because the Lord is going to do wonders. We are to act in faith - that is, "act like it IS so, even when it's NOT so, so that it might BE so" - don't you just love that?

I don't know about you, but I am anticipating my miracle! I am ready and I am believing!

Lord God, I thank you that You make all things new. I will follow You forward!

  4. I really liked that she gave us a way to look at scripture in a whole new light. I really needed a "new" way to study. I also loved the point about living like He has already blessed you. Dr. Rummage said several points that Priscilla did and I kept showing them to Steve in my journal during the service. Then I said, "Do you THINK I needed to hear this stuff? I mean when God says it TWICE! Come on now!" The Lord is at work and I am excited to see what He has in store! Going beyond! That's what we are doing!! Love it!
    Love YOU!

  5. I loved every point but especially the last one. Far to often we are anticipating something bad to happen instead of miracles!
