So, while Chad left me here this weekend I started a blog! Ha!
I went and spent the night with my parents on Friday night. My mom is such a good hostess and we had a great time hanging out. I took Calie girl with me, and my mom realized that it was the first time her "grand-dog" had spent the night! On Saturday my mom, sister, E (my almost 2 1/2 year old niece) and me all went shopping for a while. It was such a fun girl's day! I didn't find anything to wear for Easter Sunday though. I always like for Chad and I to match, or at least coordinate in some way, but this year I am struggling with a color scheme. I know, these really are the things to be worrying about on EASTER Sunday people. But, I have planned outfits for us every Easter for the last seven years, and I just don't think I want the streak to end! Seriously though, I know once I get there it won't matter a hill of beans what I have on (as long as it's something) we will just be worshiping our Risen Savior!
Okay...back to the weekend. I got to bring Miss Priss home with me to keep me company while Chad was gone. We drive home in the pouring rain, get all of our stuff into the house and realize that we have no power...oh my word. And then, to make things worse I can smell something that is not very pleasant to say the least. I start to investigate where the stench could be coming from and I'm wondering if the power has been out long enough to make the stuff in the fridge go bad, etc. But as I make my way over to the sink I realize that after dinner the other night (we had shrimp cocktail) I rinsed our plates off and put the shrimp tails down the disposal. Only problem was, I forgot to turn the disposal ON! Lord have mercy! It smelled so bad, and there wasn't anything I could do about it because we had no power!
So I'm stuck in the stinky, shrimp smelling house with a two year old and no power wondering what in the world I am going to do. So, I prayed and asked God to please provide us with power. There were people in our neighborhood that were host homes for Disciple Now and I knew that they were stuck with their groups at home, at dinner time, with no power. God is good and the power came back on about 30 minutes later.
Calie wanted some too!
We had such a good time, as always! She is just a doll and even though I don't see how it's possible, I love her more and more each day! She wasn't quite sure what to think about her Bubba being gone. She kept asking for him to come back! We were both so happy when we got to church this morning and could see him. We missed him so much!
This morning was an awesome time of worship and reflecting on all that Jesus went through on the cross to pay for my sins and stand in my place. It is only by His stripes that I am healed. Thank you God for Your grace, it should have been me. I am so undeserving, but I praise You for Your unfailing love and the grace by Your blood.
Hope you all had a great weekend also!
So glad you started a blog!! We have a lot in common!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe hosted youth in the fall for our church's DNOW. We kept 11 10th grade girls. It was so much fun but I was worn out!
Thanks for all of your wonderful comments!
