Greenville Getaway/Mothers Day

Sometimes, you just need to get away. This is one of those weekends for us. We decided to go on a quick overnight trip, somewhere pretty close by. We usually go to a bed and breakfast in the mountains, but this time I wanted to do something different. I was talking to my mom about several places we had considered and Greenville came up. Well, a couple of days later she called me to say that Southern Living had an article about '24 hours in Greenville'...so there you have it, that's where we decided to go! I mean, if it's in Southern Living, it must be pretty good, huh?

We booked a room here...

and we have tickets to a baseball game Saturday night. Greenville has a minor league team that is affiliated with the Red Sox (Chad's fave) and after reading about their team and how their stadium is designed after Fenway, we knew we wanted to check it out.

It even has it's own "mini green monster"!

We are looking forward to getting away and doing something different. Greenville has a really neat downtown, so we are going to enjoy walking around and seeing new places. I already have a few shops on my list of places to go!

To my mom, thank you for being so supportive, understanding, caring...and just the best mom ever! I love you and can't wait to celebrate this special day with you. ~ To my sister, I am so proud of the mother you are to E - I hope this third Mother's Day is very special for you! I love you and E to pieces! ~ To all of my friends who are mothers, thank you for being the examples that you are to me of how to raise godly children...you are all doing a great job and I am thankful for the influence that you have on me. I long for the day when I can put what I've learned into practice and be joyful on this day to celebrate being a mom.

Please be in prayer for those who will have a hard time on this day. For some, it can be a very painful reminder of someone they don't have. Some, like me, may be longing to be a mom, others may have lost their mothers and are grieving that loss. Love on your children, and your moms...they are such blessings!!! Make sure they know how much they mean to you!
