Quite possibly the most boring post ever

I'm really trying to think of something to post, but I really don't have much going on to talk about. You have been warned...this will most likely be the most boring post ever!

Well, okay...here's a few things that come to mind:

1) We lost power last night, so I can't talk about AI. But I will be watching tonight to find out if David wins...ha!

2) My finger is feeling much better! I will try to post an updated picture as requested by Caroline but I'll have to wait until Chad can take it for me. I can't hold the camera with my left hand!

3) I'm done with work for the week.....yay!!!

4) Chad, his dad and their crew worked on our yard on Tuesday. It looks SO much better!! We have trees in our backyard (which is kind of rare these days) and the undergrowth, brush, etc. had just gotten out of hand. They cleared so much out and it looks like a different back yard! I might not be afraid to go outside now!

Here's a before...

and after they were done working their magic...

they cleaned out the gutters and a TON of poison ivy that was back there. Every year I get it from Calie, and Chad's dad said it was no wonder...that we had enough of it back there to grow a farm. Now we've still got work to do this fall to get grass to grow back there, but one thing at time! Thanks guys!!!

5) You know how I said before that we have chocolate chip cookies several times a week? Well, say hello to our new nighttime treat. It is an ice cream float with these two beauties....it's the perfect combination!

Oh. My. Word. It is not right how good this is! My mom and dad got me hooked on these! Definitely going to have one tonight while watching the finale!

6) E was at my mom's house the other night and wanted to read. My mom was already reading a book and told E to ask Poppa to read to her... E got this puzzled look on her face, scrunched up her nose, tilted her head to the side and said..."Poppa know how to do dat?"

Alright, I guess that's enough randomness for one post. Enjoy your evening!

  1. Love the update! And I was unaware of this ice cream float combination. But my gut reaction to those pictures is, "um, yes." Sounds delightful!

  2. Okay, now that was not boring at ALL!! So glad your finger is feeling better. I love your "new" backyard. I could use them at my house next. :) We have trees too and I love them, but we have several spots that need cleaning up. The ice cream sounds yummy!! I love the Emma story. She is just too cute for words. I wish her and Ella could meet! I think they would be the best of friends. :)

I JUST made some chocolate chip cookies...we've been a little obsessed with those around here too! The float sounds pretty amazing, so we may need to put that into the bedtime snack rotation :)
Glad to hear the fingers doing better...it looked very painful!

  9. Your backyard is just like mine last year this time. We cleared tons of trees and poison ivy. Steve had poison ivy so bad 2 years ago that it literally scarred his arms! But we love how open that area is now with fewer trees and underbrush.

My girls LOVE Dr. Pepper, so I will have to try that float!
