Our Weekend in Greenville, SC

I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend! Ours was really wonderful. It was just what we needed...time away together, doing something fun and keeping our mind off of things. Here's what we did...

After making a quick (well, as quick as it CAN be) stop at Mary Jo's for some fabric, we hit the road with Starbucks in hand. Greenville is a pretty short drive and we had beautiful weather to drive in. It could not have been prettier! As we were making our way into Greenville, Chad spotted a billboard for Mimi's Cafe!!!! Y'all, I was so excited and told him that we MUST go...after all, so many of my blogging friends talk about going there all the time, so I had to join in on the MiMi's action!

It's such a cute little place! Chad had Mahi Fish Tacos, and I had Crab Cakes with a Mixed Greens Salad. It was yummy! And I loved that Carrot Raisin Bread (I think that's what it was) that they served....so good!

Oh, and we got the scoop that they are building one here!! Yay!!

Once we ate, we headed to this monogram gift shop that I had been wanting to go check out. It was one of the big things I was looking forward to doing while we were there. So, we navigated our way there with the help of Tom Tom, only to pull up to an empty parking lot and realize that they had closed just 10 minutes before. AAGGHHHH!!! So, I peeked as best as I could through the windows! Haha! Chad told me we could come back some time, but I was pretty bummed that we didn't get to see it while we were already there =( Oh well!

So we made our way to the hotel after that to get checked in. We stayed at the Westin Poinsett. It is an older Westin that has recently been renovated and it was so pretty! I just love the brickwork on this older building.
After getting settled in, we headed out for a walk. Greenville has such a pretty downtown, with tree lined streets and a beautiful park they have built around the Reedy River. Look as this....right in the middle of downtown Greenville....

It is such a pretty park with beautiful landscaping. People were hanging out with their families, riding bikes, playing in the water...it was so neat!

We stopped in a little courtyard to take a picture of ourselves. Not the greatest, but what are you to do when no one is around to ask them to take it for you? =)

Later that night we headed to the stadium for the baseball game. It really was a pretty ballpark and we had great seats in the shade (thank you Lord!). The team wasn't that great, but it was still fun to watch. We even sang "Sweet Caroline" in the seventh inning stretch...just like at Fenway!

Here's the real green monsta'...

And here's the mini green monsta'!

Another self portrait...

On our walk back to the hotel we saw several wedding receptions going on. There were live bands playing and people dancing...it was such a beautiful night for a wedding. I should have taken some pics of the brides we saw...very pretty!

We slept late Sunday morning and then began to make our way home. We made a few stops on the way back...you can't go by the outlets in Gaffney and not stop! No, m'am that just would not make a bit of sense. So we stopped and I got this cute polo dress that I am going to monogram. It was too good of a deal to pass up!

When we were about 45 minutes outside of Greenville, Chad asked "You did get your pillow, right?" UH-OH!!! I completely forgot my pillow on the bed at the Westin. Oh mercy, tears did follow! I LOVE my pillow, and I LOVE my pillowcase even more..so we made a call to housekeeping and had to leave a voicemail. Finally Chad got a hold of someone who said they had my pillowcase (who knows about the pillow??) and that they would ship it to us. YAY!!! Thank goodness it was monogrammed ;)

Thank you all for your sweet comments and prayers....overall, it was a wonderful weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my man! I am so blessed to have him by my side. He has been so strong and supportive through all that we have gone through these past couple of years. I just love him so!

And now, I CANNOT wait for the finale of the Bachelor tonight!!! I'm hoping he's going to choose her...

Yay!!! He picked her! I hope they will be happy together!
